Joint Business of MX with Lotte Chemical
HD Hyundai Chemical is Korea’s first joint venture between a refinery and a petrochemical company. With the commercial operation of HD Hyundai Chemical in 2016, the two companies―which previously relied on imports for the majority of mixed xylenes, the principal raw material for manufacturing aromatics―successfully increased the stability of raw material supply and demand. In 2022, HD Hyundai Chemical began the expansion of its petrochemical business by launching the Heavy-feed Petrochemical Complex (HPC).
