Korea’s 1st Private Oil Refining Company
Registration of incorporation completed on November 19, 1964, Kukdong Oil Industry Company has finished construction for its plant with a daily capacity of 3,000 barrels in 120,000 ㎡ of land on December 31, 1965 in Yongdang-dong, Busan.
Daesan plant construction, New Era of the West Coast
In 1989, Kukdong has completed its construction of Daesan Plant equipped with the nation’s first Crude Oil Decomposition facilities with a capacity of 34,000 barrels and cutting-edge oil refining facilities with a daily capacity of 60,000 barrels in Daejuk-ri, Daesan-eup, Season-si, Chungcheongnam-do.
Introduction of ‘OILBANK’
We introduced the gas station brand ‘OILBANK’, which brought an innovative sensation in the oil refining industry.
Commercial Oil Terminal
After founding our subsidiary, Hyundai Oil Terminal, we have built the very first Commercial Oil Storage Facilities in the oil refining industry. Ulsan New Port houses Hyundai Oil Terminal, located at Namhang pier. It performs as the largest distribution base in the Southeast area.

2011, management and unions of HD Hyundai Oilbank came together to share 1% of their monthly salary to our neighbors in need. 97% of employees are currently participating in such monthly donation, which is managed by ‘HD Hyundai Oilbank 1% Nanum Foundation’ composed of an independent board of directors in order to honor the noble gesture of our employees.
Miracle from 1% of Paycheck
We serve meals to the elderly in the low-income group. We donate goods for those who can’t receive welfare benefits. In addition, we seek for more ways to reach out to many different groups, such as helping neighbors that went through sudden accidents.
Building Hope
We build kindergartens and schools in Nepal and Vietnam to give children an opportunity of education and to help them hold on to their dreams and hopes.
1% Share to Everywhere
Along with employees of HD Hyundai Oilbank, all gas stations under our direct management throughout the country are currently donating 1% of their profits. Voluntary movement of independent gas stations to join the donating is also increasing. 1% Share of Paycheck is spreading throughout the society including our partners and other major corporations.
